ABOUT US
Welcome to Trafford School of Yoga CIC — a community-centred organisation dedicated to improving mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing through authentic yoga, meditation, sound healing, and human connection.
Our mission is to support people across Trafford, especially those who may be vulnerable, isolated, lonely, struggling with stress, anxiety, emotional challenges, or a lack of social connection. We believe wellbeing should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, experience, or ability.
Trafford School of Yoga CIC focuses on helping individuals reconnect with themselves through calmness, mindfulness, inner healing, movement, breathwork, and community support. More than just yoga classes, we aim to create safe and welcoming spaces where people can come together, feel heard, make new friendships, and improve their overall quality of life.
Our yoga approach is deeply rooted in the ancient teachings of yoga as described in the Bhagavad Gita and traditional yogic philosophy. We focus on yoga in its original and authentic form — not simply as physical exercise, but as a holistic practice for balance, discipline, peace, self-awareness, and inner transformation.
Leading our sessions is experienced yoga expert Neha, who has trained individuals and communities across India, America, and the UK for many years. Recognised for her knowledge and authentic teaching style, Neha combines ancient yogic wisdom with accessible and practical wellbeing techniques suitable for modern life.
Alongside yoga sessions, Trafford School of Yoga CIC also offers meditation practices, mindfulness workshops, and sound bath experiences using singing bowls, handpan music, live vibrations, and healing frequencies designed to encourage deep relaxation, calmness, emotional release, and inner healing.
At Trafford School of Yoga CIC, we believe healing happens not only through movement and meditation, but also through human connection. Our sessions encourage people to leave isolation behind, meet new people, share conversations over coffee, and become part of a supportive and uplifting community.
MEET THE DIRECTORS
Puneet Kaur
Puneet Kaur is a Director of Trafford School of Yoga CIC who brings together over 20 years of experience in the software industry with a deep and personal journey into holistic wellbeing.
Her interest in alternative therapies began through lived experience, where practices such as yoga, acupuncture, and meditation helped her find balance, clarity, and resilience during different stages of life. What began as a personal wellbeing journey gradually evolved into a passion for making these practices accessible and inclusive for others within the community.
Within Trafford School of Yoga CIC, Puneet supports the organisation through event planning, promotion, administration, and financial oversight, helping to build a strong, sustainable, and community-focused foundation for the CIC’s work.
She is passionate about creating welcoming and inclusive spaces where people from all backgrounds, age groups, and experiences feel supported to explore wellbeing in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them.
Puneet strongly believes that wellbeing should not be a luxury but something every individual and community should have access to, especially in today’s fast-paced and stressful world.
Neha Vohra
My Yoga Journey: From Passion to Purpose
Welcome! My name is Neha Vohra, and my relationship with yoga began over two decades ago in 2002. What started as a personal practice quickly transformed into a lifelong passion, dedication, and ultimately, my life’s purpose.
The Foundations (2002 – 2008)
My early years in yoga were defined by discipline and dedication. Between 2002 and 2008, I actively participated in numerous competitive platforms, earning recognition at State, National, Youth, and College levels.
This competitive background gave me a deep foundational understanding of body alignment, discipline, focus, and the true potential of the human body and mind.
Spreading the Light Abroad (2010 – 2013)
While living in the USA, I discovered the joy of sharing yoga with others. I began teaching informal sessions from the heart, using the ancient wisdom of yoga to help people find physical comfort, emotional balance, and mental peace in their everyday lives.
Professional Evolution & The Digital Shift (2016 – Present)
In 2016, I formally transitioned into professional teaching and later strengthened my expertise through Yoga Alliance Certification.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, I adapted quickly by launching online yoga sessions to support people through a period of global stress, anxiety, and isolation. Today, my journey continues to evolve as I bring yoga both online and directly into the heart of local communities across the UK.
For many years, I have also worked extensively with children and young adults, teaching the ancient form of yoga and helping younger generations understand the deeper principles behind the practice.
I am passionate about preserving and passing on the true heritage and philosophy of yoga as it originally existed — not only as physical movement, but as a complete way of life centred around balance, mindfulness, discipline, emotional wellbeing, focus, and self-awareness.
Through my work, I hope to make more people aware of:
* The benefits of authentic yoga
* Mental and emotional wellbeing
* Meditation and mindfulness
* Focus and concentration
* Inner calmness and healing
* Healthy and balanced living
Why I Founded This CIC
Yoga is both my passion and my profession. As a teacher, my core belief is that yoga should never be a luxury — it should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or physical ability.
As the founder of Trafford School of Yoga CIC, my mission is to make wellness inclusive, approachable, and community-driven.
Whether you are:
* A busy professional dealing with stress,
* A senior looking to maintain mobility,
* A young person seeking focus and balance,
* Or someone simply looking for a peaceful breathing space,
…our classes and wellbeing sessions are designed with you in mind.
I am here to help people move gently, breathe deeply, heal mindfully, and connect with a supportive and welcoming community.
